Preparing for Giving Tuesday 2020

Jolene told our Telehealth Nurse she was seriously considering abortion. “I’m not working and my boyfriend and I broke up recently. I don’t think I can do this on my own.”

She wanted confirmation of her pregnancy and information about abortion.

When she came to the center, she told her Advocate she wasn’t as certain about abortion.

“I’ve had a few days to think about it, to do some research, and I’m not sure I want to do that now,” the 19-year-old said. “I guess I’m just not sure.”

After an ultrasound confirmed she was eight weeks along and she witnessed her baby’s heartbeat, along with a few wiggles, Jolene told her Advocate, “That’s it – there’s no way I’m going to abort this baby. I don’t care what he says or that we’re not together anymore. I can’t abort.”

Serving Many "Jolenes"

Jolene is not the only patient we’ve seen recently who either considered abortion or planned to make the trip to Colorado for one – and then changed her mind. The reality of what they see on the ultrasound, and the truthful information presented by our nurses and advocates on what abortion is, has resulted in many changed hearts and minds within the past few months and since the start of 2020.

Despite COVIO concerns, unemployment, relationship woes, and other stresses, many of the abortion-minded and abortion-determined women we’ve seen this year have been impacted by their visit to True Care, and they choose to continue their pregnancies. A few were even moved enough by the Gospel presentation to receive Christ or visit a local church. Some joined Embrace Grace, being held this fall at Paradise Valley Christian Church, and our Resource Program has assisted nearly 100 women in the first nine months of 2020.

Your partnership with True Care through the gifts of your prayers, time, talent, and treasure is a wise investment, and we are grateful to each person who joins with us.

Giving Tuesday 2020

As we prepare for Giving Tuesday, the international day of giving, we humbly ask for your continued support. A new year looms on the horizon, and if we are going to continue serving women like Jolene and reach even more abortion-minded and determined women, we need your help. Attracting these women through online ads and billboards costs a lot of money, but these are the most effective ways to reach them.

We’re blessed to have a few donors step forward with a matching gift of $10,000 for Giving Tuesday, which is scheduled for December 1, 2020. This means all gifts given that day will be matched up to a total of $10,000.00!

Watch our Friends of True Care Facebook page during the coming weeks for more information on how you can help us reach more “Jolenes” in 2021 by participating in Giving Tuesday 2020!
