Let's Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
Praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing,
Praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals,
Praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. – Psalm 150
“I can’t believe I’m pregnant,” Genevieve told her Advocate. “Just the whole thought of it scares me.”
She believed she was about 15 weeks along when she came for her True Care appointment. Although she said she was undecided as to the outcome of her pregnancy, our young patient was leaning toward abortion. She said her boyfriend and her family would support whatever choice she made.
During the ultrasound, the Nurse discovered our patient was much farther along. The image of a 36-week baby appeared on the screen. Genevieve appeared shocked, and tears streamed down on her face as the Nurse explained she could deliver at any time.
When Genevieve again met with her Advocate, she seemed overwhelmed.
“I have twin four-year-old brothers – I really cannot do this pregnant thing,” she told the Advocate. “Am I too far along for an abortion?”
Late Term Abortion Making Headlines
As we know, late-term abortion has become the new “normal” these days. Ever since New York passed a law allowing the procedure into the 8th and 9th months, more states have taken up the infanticide mantel, including Virginia, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Our Advocate explained to Genevieve, using the abortion brochure we give to patients, the development of her baby at 36-weeks and what type of abortion procedure she would have at such an advanced stage of pregnancy. When the Nurse returned to the room, she went over the potential physical and emotional risks and side-effects of such a procedure as well as fetal development information in more depth. The Advocate also discussed adoption as an option. The young woman left undecided about her pregnancy outcome.
Follow-up was attempted a few times; however, no one from the office could reach her until a second attempt was made after Genevieve’s due date. That’s when we learned she chose life – and adoption! We are thankful for the Lord’s intervention on behalf of this young woman and her unborn, and we praise Him! We also thank God that some of the radical abortion bills brought forth in various states never passed.
Praise the Giver of Life!
The 40-Days for Life campaign began March 6. Through the prayers and counseling of sidewalk life-warriors, more than 40 unborn lives have been saved to date. Across America and around the world, men, women and their unborn are being impacted by these faithful pro-life friends. We praise God for their courage, conversations, and contemplations in front of abortion clinics.
There is much to praise God about pro-life work, including the upcoming movie Unplanned, which showcases the life of Abby Johnson. A former abortion clinic manager, Abby’s eyes and heart were opened by the Lord as to what abortion really is. She now serves Him through her speaking and by helping other abortion workers walk away from the industry. The movie is coming to Casper the end of March – watch the Friends of True Care Facebook page for more information about the opportunity to see this incredible film.
We all have opportunity to praise God in another way. The 3rd annual Hymn Sing for Life takes place Sunday, April 7 at Grace Reformed Church at City Park. This special, family-friendly event serves as a fundraiser for True Care – and gives us opportunity to fellowship together in praise of our great God. Plan to join us! Watch a short video here about the event, which will feature special guest organist Kenrick Mervine, who performs with the Colorado Symphony and other groups. The Hymn Sing begins at 4 pm.
And we praise God for you, our True Care supporters, friends, and life-warriors!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise Him all creatures here below! Praise Him above, yet heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
