True Care Offers Abortion Pill Reversal

Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) has helped save nearly 900 babies from abortion during the past decade. True Care began offering this incredible service with the dawn of the new year.

What is Abortion Pill Reversal?

A medical doctor named George Delgado pioneered Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) about 10 years ago. Progesterone, the medication used in the abortion reversal procedure, is not a new development when it comes to saving pregnancies. Women who have experienced miscarriage are frequently given progesterone with a new pregnancy to help prevent another miscarriage; that medical protocol has occurred for decades. Dr. Delgado decided, upon receiving a phone call from a woman who had taken the first abortion pill, mifepristone, to try using progesterone to help women who regret their medical abortions.

Rebekah’s Story

The 19-year-old believed abortion was her only option. Already the mother of a toddler, Rebekah had severed an abusive relationship with the father of her children. Back living with her parents, unemployed, and finishing school, the California woman went to Planned Parenthood and took the first of the abortion pills given to her. She left with a brown paper bag and instructions for taking the second pill at home a few days later. She suddenly realized her son’s birthday was the next day and felt remorse for not choosing to give life to this other baby. When she asked for help in stopping the abortion, clinic staff told her nothing could be done and that she needed to continue with the abortion after she returned home. Rebekah did her own research and discovered something COULD be done to stop the abortion through a protocol called Abortion Pill Reversal, which uses progesterone to counteract the first abortion pill. Today, Becca’s second son is an active, healthy six-year-old.

Some call abortion pill reversal ‘fake science.’ However, the number of babies born to women who have gone through the progesterone protocol is NOT fake. Rebekah is among those whose child lived thanks to abortion pill reversal.

Shashana’s Story

So is Shashana. A former Marine, the young woman was pressured to abort by the father, her then-boyfriend. She gave in and went to a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood.

“After I took the first pill, I bawled my eyes out,” she said.

She called the clinic to seek help and received a response similar to the one told to Becca. “I asked them about my options, and I was told nothing could be done, that I should just take the second pill and get it over with,” she said.

These two women took matters into their own hands, searching online for how to stop their abortions. They discovered abortion pill reversal, and today, both have happy, healthy sons.

APR Now Offered in Casper

From coast to coast, women who regret taking the abortion pill are learning about abortion pill reversal and the Abortion Pill Rescue Network, a hotline that puts callers in touch with doctors and pregnancy centers that can help them. An increasing number of physicians and pregnancy centers are using the progesterone protocol, helping women save their pregnancies. The protocol works, on average, 65 percent of the time.

True Care now offers abortion pill reversal.

A woman calling the Abortion Pill Rescue Network or the True Care Scheduling Line will be assessed to see if she qualifies. Chances of stopping the abortion procedure are greater if a woman hasn’t taken both abortion pills, mifepristone and misoprostol. The first pill blocks progesterone receptors, the second pill causes contractions. Taking prescribed progesterone daily helps with the pregnancy's viability, and True Care's nurses will provide consistent ultrasounds to monitor the viability. A woman doesn't have to be a True Care patient to receive this service. We are here to help women and their unborn however we can.

Here for Those Who Regret Taking the Abortion Pill

If a woman has taken the first abortion pill and regrets that decision, she can contact our Scheduling Line at 307-215-9684 or the Abortion Pill Rescue Network hotline at 877-558-0333 to get assessed and scheduled. The service is free.

APR provides another choice, and another chance for women and their unborn. We are here to help with that choice and that second chance.
