Nineteen-year-old Rachel came into our center a few weeks before the holiday season. She was seeking an abortion. Within a few weeks, she contacted True Care asking about resources, including Medicaid and True Care’s parenting classes. She changed her mind and planned to parent. Prayer (which we do daily) and persistence (not giving up telling and showing abortion-determined women the truth) pays off. Find out more about Rachel and the numbers of women we served in 2020 on our blog post.

Together, True Care and supporters of our mission can continue helping and making an impact on other women like 'Janna.'

Courage and Service Needed in the Battle for Life

We recently celebrated Memorial Day, honoring the hundreds of thousands of military men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. People who serve on the front lines know the courage it takes to engage in battle. Even amid this fight against COVID-19, we witness healthcare workers, grocery store clerks, scientists, and others courageously serving the rest of us – some have died in that service. Whether it’s a war against another country or a life-threatening disease, courage is required. Bravery is also required to fight the battle for life. Will you display courage and join us on the front lines as a Hero for Life?
Walk for Life 2020

This year's Walk for Life looks different because our world is different. The COVID-19 health crisis has changed the way most of us conduct our lives. Federal, state, and local governments issued guidelines about two months ago to help prevent the spread of the virus; those guidelines included no gatherings of more than 10. Since our event usually draws 100 to 200 people, instead of gathering as a large group, we are encouraging supporters to conduct their own personal Walk for Life. You can still be a superhero for life in 2020!

Standing on God's Promises

Each day True Care staff and volunteers gather for prayer before opening our doors to patients. We pray for the women who have appointments; we pray for each other; and we pray for our supporters. We thank God daily for those who stand beside us, and we thank Him for his presence in our ministry. We thank Him for all the promises He gives. Pro-life work isn’t easy. Yet, even in darkness the light shines, through our abortion recovery program and even simply in the love and compassion bestowed on our patients. Many, even those who go through with an abortion, return for another pregnancy because of the love of Christ lavished upon them. As we enter the last quarter of the year, we continue standing on God’s promises.

Choosing to Share the American Dream
tags: pregnancy, abortion, True Care Casper WY, events
Earlier this month, True Care hosted a large fundraising event, our annual Walk for Life. The endeavor brings together supporters from across the community, making a public stand to save unborn lives and empower the mothers who carry those babies. In April, Grace Reformed Church at City Park hosted a fundraising event for True Care called Hymn Sing for Life. Once again, people from around the community came out to support the important work we do. Both fundraising endeavors involved young people, and we are thankful for the youth and children who choose to stand for life.
This blog post is written by Hannah Tippin, a student attending the University of Wyoming, who participated in the April Hymn Sing. She used this writing as part of a class assignment regarding a service project, and she graciously said yes to having it posted on our blog.

True Care sees patients who attend institutions of higher education and plan to abort their pregnancies because of school. Finances play into that as well. Whether it is the fear of losing a scholarship or concerns about pursuing an education while pregnant, some women believe they have to choose one or the other: school or baby. However, that isn’t true, and at True Care, we strive to help young women understand that.

Abby Johnson’s story is compelling. A former Planned Parenthood clinic director in Texas – she even won an Employee of the Year award – this young woman walked away from money and prestige after witnessing an abortion. She once believed she and the organization she worked for were helping women, but her mind and heart opened to the truth of what abortion does to women … and to the unborn. Thanks to brave people like Abby and the producers, writers, and directors of PureFlix, God’s light of love, mercy, and truth will be broadcast throughout the country. We can help that light shine.

Ever since New York passed a law allowing the procedure into the 8th and 9th months, more states have taken up the infanticide mantel, including Virginia, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Colorado also has a late-term abortionist. Still, we in the pro-life arena have much to praise God about!

The U.S. Census Bureau reports that 80 percent of single-parent households are headed by women, and 40 percent of children in such a situation live in poverty. The Guttmacher Institute has reported that more than 40 percent of Planned Parenthood clients either were attending college or had some college education and another 35 percent were in or had graduated high school. These students need to know they can still get an education while pregnant or parenting. True Care and others are responding to that need.

What is Abortion Recovery?
tags: abortion, abortion healing, abortion recovery, SaveOne, Her Choice to Heal, affects of abortion, Casper WY
Abortion recovery programs provide women (and men) emotionally affected by abortion the opportunity to find healing and closure. Such programs help women and men recover spiritually, mentally, and emotionally after the choice of abortion. It can often be years, even decades, before a person seeks help and healing. Sadly, many never do, perhaps because they are not aware help is available. Read this blog post to find out more about such programs and where, if you or someone you know has experienced abortion and needs to find closure and healing, can receive that help in a loving, compassionate manner.
Pregnancy Centers Offer REAL Choice for Women Facing Unplanned Pregnancies
tags: abortion, pregnancy choices, abortion pill reversal, pro-life, pro-choice, Pregnancy Help News, California Board of Registered Nursing
In July, the California Board of Registered Nursing approved continuing education classes for nurses on abortion pill reversal. Last week, the organization had a reversal of its own – its previous decision. Abortion advocates, such as Planned Parenthood, who tout “choice” in their verbiage, don’t seem to be about choice at all. If they were, why dissuade a board of nursing from offering “choice” by instructing nurses on the procedures for abortion pill reversal? Pregnancy centers, like True Care, offer real choice, providing information and medical services a woman needs without making money from her decision. Read more about the facts of real choice, including abortion pill reversal, on this week's blog.
The Benefits of Volunteering

When a person volunteers their time and talent, benefits are reaped, for both the server and the one being served. Christians derive an added benefit: serving others serves the Lord – remember what Jesus said in Matthew 25:40: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters, you did for me.” True Care needs volunteers. Read our blog to learn more and to learn about some of the benefits one woman who who volunteers at a pregnancy center receives from her service to women walking through those doors.
The Benefits of a Resource Program
tags: pregnancy centers, pro-life, resources to help pregnant women, abortion
Nearly four years ago, True Care Women’s Resource Center partnered with what is now known as the Healthy Birth and Infant Brains (HBIB) Foundation to help women have healthier babies. The mission of True Care – to erase the perceived need for abortion by effectively serving pregnant, at risk women, turning their fears into confidence – aligns with the mission of the HBIB Foundation – to help women have healthy pregnancies and lessen the chances of learning disabilities and developmental delays in children. By connecting pregnant women with community resources, agencies and organizations that can meet their various needs, True Care’s patients find the confidence they need to carry their babies to term, erasing that perceived need for abortion. Learn more about the importance and benefits of a resource program for pro-life pregnancy centers like True Care on this week's blog.
"Fake Clinic" Campaign Reminds Us We're in a Battle

During the last weeks of July, pro-abortion groups rallied like-minded people to protest, pose as fake clients, and leave negative online reviews, all endeavors to attack pregnancy centers across the country. This organized "fake clinic" campaign reminds us as pregnancy centers and pro-life advocates that we are engaged in a spiritual battle and we need to put on the full armor of God daily. True Care Expands Medical Services with Abortion Pill Reversal

When True Care Women’s Resource Center in Casper, Wyoming became a medical clinic 12 years ago, we envisioned helping more abortion-minded women see the truth of life via ultrasound. We wanted to become more relevant to our target audience by offering important medical services at no cost. Beginning this week, we are expanding our medical services to include Abortion Pill Reversal, a new treatment for women who have started a chemical (or medical) abortion and regret that decision. Many people don’t realize that the abortion pill can sometimes be reversed. The reversal process is called Pregnancy Sustaining Progesterone Therapy (PSPT) or Abortion Pill Reversal, and starting tomorrow, July 11, 2017, True Care's staff will be offering this treatment to women who thought abortion was their best option but now regret that choice. Read our post to learn more!

Last week’s Casper Star Tribune headline announcing the closing of Wyoming’s only Planned Parenthood (PP) clinic not only made Wyoming news, but also national news. The clinic, located in Casper, will shut its doors for good in July. Planned Parenthood clinics across the country are shutting their doors, including two in Colorado, three in New Mexico, and four in Iowa; several of these facilities don’t perform abortions, but, as is the case at the Casper clinic, PP staff refer clients for abortion elsewhere. Pro-life medical pregnancy centers can fill in the gap in many ways. Find out how and find out how prolife individuals and churches can help.

Singleness and Abortion

Studies show young people are delaying marriage, or planning to not marry at all, in greater numbers. Findings also suggest that American young people are living together unmarried and raising children outside of marriage in increasing numbers. In fact, data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shows the percentage of births to unmarried American women two years ago was more than 40 percent. Additionally, the Guttmacher Institute found that most women seeking an abortion were in their twenties and thirties. Learn more about these trends on this blog post.
